“Tatort: Battue” (Working Title) sees federal police commissioners Thorsten Falke (Wotan Wilke Möhring) and Julia Grosz (Franziska Weisz) working on their fifth case together. Director Samira Radsi (“Die Füchsin”, “Deutschland 83”, “Die Protokollantin”) will be filming the new episode, written by Benjamin Hessler (“Mord mit Aussischt”, “Blutgletscher”) and Florian Oeller (“Tatort: Wrath of God”, “Tödliche Geheimnisse”, “Polizeiruf 110: Dunkeldeutschland”), with Stefan Unterberger behind the camera until May 5th in Hamburg. Wüste Medien GmbH is leading the production and Das Erste will most likely be broadcasting “Tatort: Battue” in Autumn 2018.

Acting alongside Wotan Wilke Möhring and Franziska Weisz are Andreas Lust (Bernd Kranzbühler), Jörg Pose (Dieter Kranzbühler), Sascha Nathan (Siggi Reimers), Michelle Barthels (Maja Kristeva) and Levin Liam (Torben Falke), among others.

“Tatort: Anything you say” will premiere on ARD on 22nd April 2018. This makes the third “Tatort” that Özgür Yildirum has directed for us, and his second time directing police duo Thorsten Falke (Wotan Wilke Möhrung) and Julia Grosz (Franziska Weisz). We’d like to say a massive thank you to Özgür Yildirim and all of the cast and crew for their work. We are looking forward to the premiere!

Alongside all Co-producers, Wüste Film has been awarded “Producer of the Year” for “Another Day of Life” at the 20th Cartoon Movie event in Bordeaux!

We are very pleased that our series concept “The Sources of Evil” by Catharina Junk has been selected for In Development, the Cannes Drama Creative Forum, in its first year running! The Forum offers writers and producers the opportunity to present their concepts to important partners and key decision-makers in the film industry. Also attached to the project is director Thomas Stuber (“In the Ailes”, “A Heavy Heart”).

Seeing Double: shooting of the comedy “Wenn schon falsch, dann richtig” began on 14.11.17 with Sebastian Bezzel in a double-role. Directed by Holger Haase (Die Ungehorsame, Männertag), with Susanne Bormann (Russendisko, Tatort) Christian Näthe (Friesland: Krabbenkrieg, Bettys Diagnose) and Roman Knizka (Wilsberg, Ein Fall für Zwei). Filming will continue until mid December in Potsdam, Berlin and Brandenburg.

Marking the current news coverage of the Oury Jalloh case, the Sierra Leonean who fatally burned police custody in 2005 in Dessau, Das Erste will be showing Tatort: Verbrannt at 10pm on 17.11.2017. In a small town in Lower Saxony, police officers Thorsten Falke and Katharina Lorenz are following an african asylum seeker suspected of supplying human traffickers with forged passports. The arrest that the team had been working towards turned violent, with Falke resorting to force.
The suspected forger is staken into police custody overnight, in order to be questioned the next day. In the morning Falke and Lorenz learn that the man died in unknown circumstances during the night. Falke and Lorenze begin their own private investigations…

“Anything you say” marks an anniversary for Wotan Wilke Möhring: this will be his 10th investigation as police commissioner Thorsten Falke in northern Germany, and his 4th with fellow actor Franziska Weisz playing commissioner Julia Grosz alongside him. Directed by Özgür Yildirim, screenplay by Ane Nolting and Jan Martin Scharf. Also starring Marc Rissmann, Youssef Maghrebi, Jörn Knebel, Gerdy Zint, Sabrina Amali, Moritz Grove and Marwan Moussa among others.

The filming of Ziska Riemann’s Drama “Electric Girl” has started in Hamburg, with award-winning up-and-coming actress Victoria Schulz playing the film’s main character, a 23 year-old poetry slammer Mia, and cinematography by Hannes Hubach. One day, Mia gets cast as the German voice-over for a character in a Japanese Anime series. As she fuses more and more with her blue-haired
character Kimiko, she also develops superpowers like the comic book heroine and sees what no one else sees: there is a danger threatening to destroy humanity and only Mia can save the world.

The pairings of the Glücksburger Producers’ rendez-vous have been announced: Wüste Film will be working with the Danish Partners of SAM Productions among others. The purpose of the pairings is to develop regional series for west Denmark with strong German cooperation under the slogan “New Nordic Noir”. West Danish Film Fund Filmby Aarhus and the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein are also cooperating in the initiative.
