Filming is also taking place in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Sachsen-Anhalt. Stephan Rick is directing, and head writer Catharina Junk and writer Elke Schuch are responsible for the screenplays.<br \/>\nAn East German detective (Henriette Confurius) and her new partner from Hamburg (Fahri Yardim) follow a serial killer whose trail leads them into the dark depths of the German-German past. There they come across a previously undiscovered, bizarre series of murders.<br \/>\nRTL+ is on board as a partner and plans to show &#8220;The Roots of Evil&#8221; in 2023. Federation Entertainment will be responsible for international sales.
