When widowed Irene (Uschi Glas) is duped by a swindler using the grandparent scam, she is shocked at herself. Not only is her jewellery gone, she has even handed over her wedding ring. Irene decides that it is time to move into a retirement home. What she does not consider is that this could also be a way out of loneliness. Fortunately, the energetic Helene (Katharina Thalbach) does not allow Irene to shut herself away in her room out of embarrassment. Instead, she soon becomes part of Helene’s circle of friends, which includes Christel (Ursula Werner) and Annemarie (Soogi Kang). All three are outraged by what has happened to Irene. They all agree that something must be done and that the police are not the solution. For Helene, who does not believe that you have to give up all your adventurous spirit when you are over 70, it is clear that she will take matters into her own hands. And since Helene can be extremely persuasive, a plan is hatched involving a trap, a money courier and a hearse for the pursuit. And one that could put the four overly adventurous women in grave danger. Fortunately, there is Irene’s young grandson Momo (Fino Murteira Dayekh), who supports his grandmother in every way.
