A murder at an energy start-up marks the beginning of a difficult assignment for BKA bodyguard Jan Schäfer (Tobias Oertel): foreign agents shoot the founder Julian Raabe (Jonas Minthe) while attempting to obtain top-secret data. His business partner and brother Eduard (Jan Krauter) escapes, but is now in grave danger. His research findings, which make hydrogen a profitable energy source, would change both the global economy and security policy. Contrary to the advice of the company lawyer (Valerie Niehaus), Eduard refuses to back down. Schäfer and his colleague Freuding (Paula Essam) are therefore assigned to protect him and his family. While Eduard’s wife Hanna (Wanda Perdelwitz) comes to terms with the isolation, their son Marian (Philip Günsch) causes difficulties. In order to gain the trust of the rebellious teenager, Schäfer allows him a glimpse into his carefully guarded private life. The bodyguard’s relaxation of professional principles brings with it unforeseen risks. Schäfer must take up the fight at the very place where he is most vulnerable.
Following her tragic accidental death in October 2025, Wanda Perdelwitz can be seen here in one of her last roles.
